: Miniguns on WARSHIPS? You mean Phalanx guns? Nothing very mini about : them (they fire what? 20mm shells? Something like that?)... nor is : there anything very mini about a real mini gun, either. In T2 it was a : superhuman robot and in Predator, it was Arnold the Barbarian... in : Real Life (tm) the mini guns that are mounted on choppers weigh like : 300 pounds. So do mini gunners come trained in 5 seconds with cybentic : limbs and spinal cord to hold those guns? Or is the name and weapon : simply a conciet that we should understand to mean 'nasty light : machine gun' as 'man portable' it aint and it certinaly doesn't refer : to the mini guns of the 80's and 90's. Actually, the miniguns in question could concievable be the XM-214, a 5.56 mm version of the 20mm Vulcan cannon used in the phalanx system. The XM-214 weighs about 30 pounds, needs a battery pack for loading purposes, and then ammunition.
