I purchaced a new computer system that included an internal Cardinal Modem (mvp288I) and had numerous problems using it to connect to various internet service providers. Everyone kept telling me that it was the modem, the modem. I got sick of everyone blaming the problems on my modem, and not on their services. But, I figured I would try another one just to be sure, and to my amazement, I installed a US ROBOTICS 28.8 Internal modem w/voice mail, and voila...All my problems went away! I now agree that USR modems are the definative choice, and that with the lower priced Cardinal Modems, it's true what they say, "you get what you pay for." I assure you that I am simply an end user, and am in no way affiliated with USR. Has anyone else had similar problems? I'd love to hear from you. Please e-mail me. Thanks Steve
