Mainly because this sort of stuff is bloody hard to do - it involves the computer player knowing about buildings, about which to build in what order and why ( if you build barracks and comms centre first, you might not be able to afford a refinery, but if you can afford it you have to trade off a quicker income against the fact the you can't build troops yet, against the fact you might not be near opponents... ) In addition it would require them to be able to pick troops to build - note that in the game, they send preset force packages against you repeatedly until you wipe out the harvesters and then the AI simply starts cheating [IMHO] and building loads of troops, way too fast [IMHO] (amount defined I think by the level) but keeps them close to his base to defend it. --------------------------------------------+--------------------------------- "It's not a personality.. it's a bulldozer." | Q. What's the difference between Keith Lucas -- sillywiz@wardrobe.demon.co.uk.| Adolf Hitler & the U.S. Govt. ? --------------------------------------------+--------------------------------- A. Hitler knew he had to invade the rest of the world before ordering it about. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------
