No, I am not. I have the complete thread since I use an offline reader. The number of people who said rec.* or comp.* instead of ALT.KALI was more than twice that of those who want a KALI-only group. I was talking about how a general online-gaming group in rec.* or comp.* would be a good idea. It's an opinion, treat it as such. >I have closely >followed these postings and the vast majority preferred either >alt.games.kali or alt.kali. A few people did want a rec or comp group >but the word you were looking for was minority. No, I counted. I stand by 'majority'. >If you wish to start >the group you have proposed then go right ahead. It will be ready in >4-6 months. I have received numerous thank yous from people glad to >have a group now. That is fine. I was trying to support your effort, not derail it. My comments were to help, not to take any spotlight off of you. When you post a proposal, expect it to be replied to. My remarks were centered around the needs of all online-gamers. You will still get your ALT.KALI group. Others thought you might want to consider a group for all online-gaming methods in rec.* or comp.*. It wasn't a big deal. Sure, it takes a bit longer to make a rec.* or comp.* group, but there are a lot of advantages. You want a group right away and cannot wait. That is your choice. To others: A large number of people think a general online/network gaming group is a great idea. I believe rec.games.computer.online-gaming would be a good name for it. Since rec.games.computer.* is already there, it would fit right in and be easily found by those who want to talk about it. People who are interested in seeing a proposal for that group are encouraged to comment here or via email. The group would cover TEN, IHHD, iFRAG, Kali, BBS's, modem, serial link, and all other methods of network/modem gaming. -- Ke...@sojourn.com Speed kills. Switch to Windows95 and save lives!
