video problems?

I Have a problem with generals. the game play is great but i can't see the
ground. it's all black. trees, buildings, water i can see fine but the
ground textures sometimes flashes. i, running  a geforce2 mx400 32mb on a
celron 2.7ghz machine. any ideas? thanks
