the question is not dumb, it is just all the confusing nicknames we call stuff....C&C Origninal is Tiberian Dawn (a name that does not appear on the box), no matter if it is DOS, WIN 95 (AKA GOLD), MAC, Playstation, etc... the one you describe sounds like it is C&C GOLD the GOLD version 1.04 is almost 100% the same as the DOS final version 1.22 (they fixed bugs as they went from 1.07 to 1.22 in DOS) all the missions are there, no extra stuff, no changes, nothing different (well, ok, i did read that in NOD you don;t need to find all three crates to get a Nuke at the final mission)...the same videos, songs, etc....the view is different (you see more of the map, but the buildings, units etc are of course smaller) i now hold the box in my hand, i turn it over, on the back, upper right, it says"Special GOLD Edition"....maybe that was my box design and not yours...but the trim is gold..as long as it is Version 1.04 and the minimum system requirement is "windows 95 required" it is GOLD as i look at the disk and the disk holder, it says "Windows 95 " hope that helped. post back if it did (or if it didnt) -- Fight Win Prevail But Never Cheat NeMiSiS <shy...@hotmail.com> wrote in article <386FAF81...@hotmail.com>... > > Ok time for a dumb question... > C&C Original is obviously Command and Conquer (dos) > what I mean by this is that this version can > only be played in Dos mode. > > C&C Gold is the windows 95 version of C&C > > now is here is my question... > usually when a program is made Gold it says right > on the box GOLD.. > for example > Netscape Gold <-- they actually put the word Gold > right on the box. > > I have C&C .. it runs in Windows 95 .. but no place > on the box does it say "Gold" .. the sides of the box > is in the gold color .. not in the black color that > the original version was printed in. Stupid question > is this C&C Gold ??? Or is this yet another version > that Westwood at put out? > Please help > Thanks >
