i'll try to keep it short
if that doesnt work i;ll go the long route
1)DOS and GOLD are the same missions so that doesnt matter
2)use the code, when the mission is open, goto the options menu, look in
lower rit, it should say SCB08xx (xx being ea or eb depending on the
arrow).both are similar maps/tactics so their differences are minimal
3)be sure to pick up the crate in GDI's base before you end the mission so
you can get the Nuke at the end
4)don;t you just love it when Kane says GDI is weak? and they are not!
so much for background, on to your questions:
1)yes...the money is useful too to build more engineers and a flamer to
help capture the base quicker..i assume you first targeted the refinery to
get more money, then the factory and then built a local barracks (keep the
other one for faster troop training, damn there i go again, talking too
much)
2)you cannot prevent airstrikes...SAM sites need to be plentiful (at least
a dozen) before they can slow down airstrike..i once build about 30 along
the approach paths and took out the airstrike on SCB13xx, but hey, who has
time and money here?...then what?well GDI will attack the northern most
unit (and if a choice then the western most of the most northern) that you
have...so don;t go too far north with the good stuff..on the island send
the technitians and wounded soldiers north to R&R (hey, your NOD get used
to it, or end up like Seth), have a weenie roast (GDI will supply the
roast) do this one by one, replacing them each time GDI airstrikes...when
you run out, build more gunners and send them north....."hehehe i got a
mission for ya"

3)tip: GDI will attack you base with ground units, but first the north most
unit...so put a guard tower or two a bit north and then defend it with
tanks and troops...send the harvesters east to harvest second from that
field...it is tough but once you expand you can build more refineries and
the money rolls in...just keep sending that gunner north for R&R and all
will be ok
