I tend to agree.  I will play until I get stuck at something and then ask
for a hint to get me in the right direction.  I will note that I do
eventually look up the cheat codes if a game has them.  I will then use them
after I have completed the game once or twice, just to see what I could not
find, or for stress relief.

The stress relief part come in the form of an answer to my wife.  She asked
me how can I keep playing that same game over and over (happened to be Doom
2).  I told her that there is nothing quite as relaxing as playing God and
wandering through hell with a rocket launcher!!!
