If I remember well, if all villagers (or Moebius) die, "your mission is
a failure". It happens once with I playing, all villagers were killed by
tiberium, and I lose the game although I had plenty of units, money,
etc.

Except that, there is no major reason regarding screenplay.

BUT in Tiberian Sun, helping the "Forgotten" (humans left in the
Tiberium-contaminated lands) is a MAJOR concern : Forgotten have special
units and special buildings they can give you !

The GDI is best at convincing the Forgotten to collaborate, because GDI
is the good one. But Nod can also succeed.

Well... all this is the screenplay of TS doen't change till it is
released !
