Ok, Andrew, I hope you're reading this. I think I've just about got this thing, but two things are stopping me. 1) Offsets. I want to use extract.exe to get the text for a mission out of the general.mix file, but I don't know the offsets for any of the missions. Where can I find this? 2) I created a crude map with the cc_edit and got the text file and the map file. Then I copied them to an scn file. THEN I renamed that file to scg01a.ini to replace the first GDI mission. It was in the same directory as the game.dat file. So far as I can tell, that's what was necessary to make it work, right? That's what the tutorial.txt file said. However, when I ran C&C, GDI mission one was just the same old GDI mission 1. What did I do wrong?? Thanks for creating the editor, and thanks for your help. -T wie...@ix.netcom.com

See the post I did last night for multiplayer offsets. For normal missions, use a hex editor to find them. Or, use view to look at the general.mix file - it'll show 118 things. Extract using the offsets, and if you get a text file, it's scenario info, otherwise it's probably a map. Maps always come after the scenario info, so once you find the scenario info, look for an offset just after that... > 2) I created a crude map with the cc_edit and got the text file and >the map file. Also, you will HAVE to use map-p to replace the map in the general.mix file and not copy it to the end of the text file as I said in the uttorial. As this is the case, you may like to keep a backup copy of the general.mix file. : : Tom : -- Andrew Griffin bu...@adam.com.au http://adam.com.au/~buggy BUGGY editors for buggy games...

Since we are on the subject of errors, there is a small one in ccedit 1.5 that I noticed. when I increased the payload of the orca, the tech level of it also increased, so if you give the orca a payload of 10 it gets a tech level of 10, and there is no way to lower the tech level back down..

I tried my map, it didn't work, but at least it loaded it!!! I named mine scg01ea.ini ... maybe the "a" would help... maybe its a different map. Please mail me if u get a map to work! Yep, I found this myself a day after I released v1.5. Revision 1 is now available and fixes this and another bug I also found. : -- Andrew Griffin bu...@adam.com.au http://adam.com.au/~buggy BUGGY editors for buggy games...
