I very occasionally will get a message saying TS has experienced an internal
error and it will then close back to the desktop. Doesn't happen very often
though.

Have you emailed Westwood about it ? Is it a known issue? I tried
everything..unistalled XP, loaded win98.
It's still messing up. You think there would be a patch !

Nope, never mailed them, it doesn't happen often enough for me to worry
about it, just 4 or 5 times since I got the game. I was running Win 98, just
now upgraded to XP Pro and haven't really tested it yet with it. Sounds like
it must be hitting you pretty often though. :-(

hmmmmm
when it happens, does it give u the internal error message?

do you play online?
if not, you wont have the latest updates
you may wish to get updated from the welcome screen
(the one that comes up when u first put the disk in)
it says "auto update"
right under the "play" button
