Hi everyone im new to this group and computers in general and would
appreciate some help. I bought C+C red alert 2 the other day and I cant get
it to start, im running windows ME and after installation the game says it
needs a mouse to play. I thought it might be something with my drivers but
ive just had no luck even after installing new ones so if someone can offer
some sort of help for a total idiot (with computers!!) it would be much
appreciated.

Weird problem...
If you are using a Serial mouse try a PS/2 mouse.
Maybe there's an application blocking the mouse.
Try going to the menu "Start" than "run"
type "msconfig" enter and look under the "startup" tab
Check off all appz you don't need except maybe a firewall or virusscanner.

Good luck!
