I liked the demo graphics (probably low-res) for the original command and conquer, but there doesn't seem to be a way to set this video mode with the retail game. I've tried both 640x480 and 640x400 modes, but this isn't the view you got in playing the demo...i.e. when 'everything was bigger'. I thought this might have had something to do with my video card, but then I bought a new video card, and there was no difference in either mode. I guess what I want to know is, is there a way to force the game to display in less than 640x400 graphics mode, so that both your men and playing field seem larger (like in the demo)?

The Demo was in DOS, and you probably bought the Windows95 Version of the final game. There's no way to force a lower resolution on the Windows version afaik, and I dunno if the DOS version of the game is available anywhere now ... -- The Inane Dirk http://inane.livejournal.com "Think my sig is too long? In article <Xns92C472B4...@62.153.159.134>, but only after serious contemplation, The Inane Dirk <dirk.bla...@t-online.de> put finger to keyboard and produced the following; >"pete fox" <pf...@jam.rr.com> wrote in >news:dKYz9.319805$Fw2.9...@twister.austin.rr.com: > >> I liked the demo graphics (probably low-res) for the original >> command and conquer, >The Demo was in DOS, The original release was also in DOS. >and you probably bought the Windows95 Version >of the final game. I haven't seen it for a long time - although I still have my original copy installed on my laptop (there aren't many good games you can play on a "non-TFT" screen). ;-) -- Cheers, Chas. I can't remember anymore what exactly needs to be done, but basically you use the Covert Ops executable (if you have one) to start the game and the demo setup program to get the sound working. -- The Ambiguous Antti an...@adjective-army.com UIN: 46168834
