C&C Renegade - Jerk Play no matter what I do - PLS Help!!!

Greetz. System: Athlon 1.4Ghz, Abit KG7-RAID 2xIBM 82GB Drives, NVidia GeForce Pro Overclocked 300Mhz GPU 400Mhz Mem, Windows XP Pro. GUys I got a £1700 PC and I can't even play C&C Renegade what wrong!!?? I've update to Renegade_1015, I've installed the latest NVidia Detonator Drivers released Yesterday 28.32, I've installed the VIA AGP Driver 5.10. No matter what I do when I play C&C Renegade (all resolutions) it's unplayable cos it's soo jerky, can some body tell me why? Castle Wolfenstein runs smooth at 1280*1024 >60fps. I've tried reducing the detail, vertex shadding, resolution 640*480 and it's still jerky. Help me please!!!

What sort of fps are you getting when you think it is jerky? At what point is is jerky, all the way thru or just in situations like the ambush in the first battle? Once I got past that it was a whole lot smoother running. thanks, John. Not enough RAM? You didn't mention how much you've got, and Renegade is quite a memory hog. Especially when paired with XP. For absolute smoothness in that game, you oughta have more than 256 MB..
