C&C Renegade - Multiplayer Practice mode

Hello Just bought renegade, and patched it up. I've been trying to get in to the multiplayer practise, but when the game loads, and all that happens is that i fall through the floor, and carry on falling through "space" until i reach the 'bottom' when it shifts me back to the top again, and the cycle is started all over again ad infinitum. Has anyone got any idea what is happening? how to fix it?
