C&C Renegade Copy Protection

I made image files of both the C&C:Renegade discs, and burnt them, but
when they start up and i click install it says "please insert Renegade
Game Disc" regardless of whether it's the Data or Game cd in the drive.

I figure it's copy protection, but I made image files, so i'm wondering
how they pulled it off and how to get around it.?

Please no flaming about stealing, i know i suck. :-)

Read up on how SafeDisc works on the internet, shouldn't be too hard to
find (;

You're right- it's not hard to find, but ddump seems to be the
standard way to do such a copy and that doesn't work (using "ddump
0:0:0 disc1 SAFEDISC" works for other games, but not for Command and
Conquer: Renegade). Does anyone know a tool that will copy this game?

Ever since I scratched and destroyed Max Payne, I don't mess around
with SafeDisc originals. It really turns a disc into a fragile piece
of garbage.

err, wait a minute. Are you saying that you managed to destroy an
original CD by trying to copy it?

Thanks, I'll try it.

Nono- I'm just saying that I just scratched it up.

Safedisc disks are well known to be fragile. I guess their secret
magical copy protection takes the place of the error correction.
