can anyone offer any advice for someone thinking about getting their first c+c game? there r too many to choose from!

Who amoung us didnt love the Commando mission (who amoung us who played C&C Tiberian Dawn don't know what it is? none of us, we all remember that mission)..yet what mission in TS can anyone say they enjoyed at all, least of all as much?.. And how many times did we talk about the alternate ending to the GDI mission? and how many of us care anymore (or remember) how TS ended? except maybe to complain how lame it was? the topics to talk about TD were endless.. in TS, no one cared..that is what i mean by soul..the essence that causes us to care.... TD was the one that set it all off.. (thanks brett, joe and erik). Although I love all of them, including Renegade (I was invited to the beta by Westwood because I own cncworld.org :D ).
