Anyone have a good understanding of Kali and C&C?

I can get Kali running great (using cslipper), but C&C will cause the
machine to lock up, or even execute a cold boot, at random times.  

Anyone else ever have this problem?  Are there any packet drivers that
will support CSLIP other than cslipper?

Running DOS 7 (NOT Win95), MSCDEX, EMM386 (various command lines),
standard mouse driver, Himem, SoundBlaster driver, etc.  Nothing special.

As another option: would the Kali95 Beta help out?
