Harvesters usually win the game. Ie if you have many happy harvesters you can buy heaps of stuff. The biggest imbalance of the game is the difference between apaches and orcas. 3 apaches can wipe out a harvester in a single strike. It takes about 7 or 8 orcas to do the same deed in a single strike. Therefore apaches will kill GDI's harvesters before GDI can get enough orcas into the air, and of course once his harvesters are destroyed he can't afford them anyway - game over! It is almost impossible for GDI to defend their harvesters in the field. The only possible way is to sandbag out to the tiberium and build advance guard towers (AGT's), build mammoth tanks or use bazooka guys. AGT's are good but only if the tiberium is not too far to sandbag to. Mammoth tanks take time because you've got to build a weapons factory and repair yard. MT's can be taken out easily by as few as 3 Nod bikes. Bazooka guys suck because they are relatively expensive for the puny little shits that they are. They can't keep up with the harvesters and the tiberium kills 'em anyway or apaches turn them into mincemeat. An aggressive Nod player who concentrates on apaches at the start of the game is very hard to beat. GDI just hopes that they can get into the Nod base and catch him with his pants down.
