Why doesn't C&C find modem?!

Hi Tried to set up C&C for multiplayer game over modem, but got the same error on both sides. First, both of us use 486/Win95 and Sportsters (28.8). However, this doesn't seem to be the problem; when trying to connect, C&C doesn't find our modems - actually there is no sign that it even tries - but that's hard to determine, though. C&C claims there's something wrong with the modem or the connections - bah... The modems work fine in any other situations and we've tried to run C&C from Win95, from DOS 7.0 started after entering WIn95 and DOS 7.0 without entering Windows... Had the same problem with connecting 2 Multitech ZDXK's , turned out that we are running V1.07 and it doesn't like 28800 as the connect speed.Changed our setups to 19200 and it worked fine. Only problem was losing 2-1 to his NOD forces against my GDI ;-) Andy Beales
