In the MixMan documentation, it states that .INI files can be simply
placed inside the C&C directory, and will then override those on the
CD. It then goes on to say that the .MAP files cannot. They must be
replaced back inside the GENERAL.MIX files (which are on the CD). HOW
ARE YOU MEANT TO DO THIS, WHEN THE CD IS READ-ONLY ?
Please help me. The one I have changed, using CCMAP, is GDI level 2
(the first non-desert one I've come across). I can mail you both the
MAP, and the .INI, if you think it would help. I will not post them
to this group, though.
Thanks, in advance. Bye.

That's all very well. I've done that already, but then what do I do
with the general.mix after it's been patched. I understand there are
two of them, with the same name.

Don't forget to hex edit your game.dat to point to the c:gener.mix. Instructions should have come w/ mixman.

Simply rename your .map file so it has the extension .bin and place your .ini and .bin file in the C&C directory. This will override any other missions.
