Does anyone know a good strategy for NOD or GDI? I usually play GDI, but recently, my friends only play NOD and just build recon bikes right after building refineries. They also sell their construction sites to get extra money for the bikes. Then they all just make a hugh charge at me before I've even built my first tank. What can GDI do to stop a fast attack by recon bikes? On other occasions, my friends just build stealth tanks. The guard their harvesters with about 6 tanks and I can;t even reach them. Sometimes they pull a sneak attack on my harvesters and I don't even notice it until it's too late. Another problem is that in a long game, the will stake out their territory with stealth tanks, and slowly surround my base with tanks without my noticing. When a few forces leave or venture out of the base, the get their asses kicked immediately. What can GDI do against all these stealth tanks? thanks, Dennis Lu lead...@ix.netcom.com

Build lots of infantry - recon bikes are really bad against infantry. Any infantry will do but grenadeers are best. > On other occasions, my friends just build stealth tanks. In article <4epj2g$6...@cloner2.ix.netcom.com> lead...@ix.netcom.com(Dennis Lu ) writes: >What can GDI do against all these stealth tanks? Well, depends...do you want to blow up the tanks, or do you want to keep them out of your base? In case you haven't noticed, stealth tanks are one of the most lightly armored units in the game. A medium tank can easily take one out, two with some trouble, and *maybe* three...and of course, more tanks just help. Mammoths are ALWAYS a wonderful thing to have, and their worth their weight in tiberium in a scrap. Now, keeping them out of your base is harder, but the easy way out is to build walls...if an AGT (Advanced Guard Tower) is in range, there's no way he's going to decloak a tank just to blow up a piece of wall to sneak in through. If you don't like the price or constrictiveness of walls, then station an AGT (or 2, or 3, or 10) at strategic locations, so your entire base (and then some) is covered by them...then just build a perimeter. A guard tower/AGT every other square is 100% stealth tank proof (if a ST [stealth tank] drives next to a unit/tower it WILL be seen) but is prohibitively expensive (will help against those recon bikes you seem to be having a headache about). What I prefer to do is to have some AGTs around my base perimeter, and then station a minigunner at every other square around it. Or, preferably, seal off choke points with a med. tank and some MLRS' (or silo/sandbag out there and build AGTs there). Now, for those recon bikes. If your opponent has as many as you're implying, then you haven't remembered this yet: RECON BIKES CAN BE CRUSHED! And APCs are just the vehicle to crush them...very fast for their weight. When he sends in a pack of bikes, get your apc out and smash your way through the thickest part of them...in a dense mass, or near a choke point, you can get a lot of recon bikes before he can do anything about it, and the rest are that much easier for you to pick off.... -Geo
