So everything that pertains to command and conquer goes in this newsfroup right. Use your head. Also if you are bothered by this thread you can just ignore it instead of flaming me. Life's a bitch, eh? heh .. interesting 1) nowadays people ONLY use windows slip/ppp, long gone are the good ol' days of unix systems and T3 connections. They're the ones who always complain when someone posts a file that takes more than 10 seconds to download. 2) people refuse to learn how to use apps. A good news reader for slip people would have an option like "don't download if file is bigger than X kilobytes." Look around .. I'm sure there's one out there that does. 3) 1000 line uuencoded message .. hmm uuencode only puts like 60 chars on a line .. that's 60k (roughly). At 14.4k it'll take about 1 minute to download. Aaaarrrrrgggggggghhhhhh! One whole minute .. no! the universe will explode by then! Or double that. same basically. Windows is supposed to do multitasking anyway, go play solitaire or somethin :). 4) If you think this C&C group is too much to download, go subscribe to some misc.forsale.* or Rush Limbaugh groups. Moral of the story: Put up, shut up, or get a better connection.

While I can see posting a new update ONCE when it is released, then just a pointer to the site everytime after that. Not a mass flood of binaries to the group. >2) people refuse to learn how to use apps. A good news reader for slip >people would have an option like "don't download if file is bigger than X >kilobytes." Look around .. I'm sure there's one out there that does. Point is, this isn't a binaries group. Thus binaries really don't belong here. Its not so much the time to download as if the group starts getting too large, servers that ban binaries will start blocking this group as well so that the people under that service can't access it because of something someone else did that has a super-fast connection. >4) If you think this C&C group is too much to download, go subscribe to >some misc.forsale.* or Rush Limbaugh groups. Or if they want binaries go to alt.binaries* >Moral of the story: Put up, shut up, or get a better connection. Moral of the story: Don't post binaries. Post pointers to binaries. OOOhhh, flames! I love it! Why don't you get some better software yourself? There is a little program called NetScape (You have heard of it, no?). Point this little jewel at the following URL: http://wellness.uwsp.edu/authors/gheeres/c&c/index.shmtl Then all these binaries you have such a boner for will be yours for the picking. This is called using your brain. Try not to hurt yourself... ---------------------------------------------------------- "Whenever I take a risk, I always have a fallback position. Since this is not a binary newsgroup, YOU should deal with it not being here, and yes, life can be a real bitch at times. And EVERYONE else? Really?
