C&C place buildings ANYWHERE on the map

Several people know about this by now.
So it's time to go public:

You can build buildings(& gun towers ;-)
and place them anywhere on the map!

Like say for instance, in the middle of
the other guys base...

1.Start a game, build a Communications
Center. You need the radar map for this.

2.Build a unit, click on it.

3.Build a building.(any...)

4.Click on the icon for the new building.

5.Click anywhere on the little map to place!

This works even in places where you've
never explored. Just click in the middle of
the darkness. If there is room, it will be placed.

You still can't place things where there are
other buildings, tiberium, trees, units, etc...

I'm making this public to slow down cheaters
who would use this against people.

"How'd that get there?"
"Uh, I built some stuff, then sold 'em off..."

This will help out those people complaining
about the AI placing SAM sites & Turrets
all over the map. Now you can too!

It's fun to drop an Advanced Guard Tower
in the back corner of the other guys base.
(where he has no defenses) but only as a joke.

If both sides agree to use it, this could also
spice up the game. But only if everyone knows
about it, so it's equal...

Send all flames to:

Whoa sh*t! It worked! This is very very evil. They is no way the game
could be equal if you know this awesome tactic (which is what I choose
to call it). Even if both people know, you'll be dropping obelisks and
stuff everywhere. With early recon just drop some obelisks or turrets
near the guys power plants and heh heh heh...

No, whats really fucked about it is when you use it to build in places that are plausable, but oh-so convenient to have done
it. Eg, playing tiberium garden, if you block your entrance with guys, so they cant get in you can either (a) build sandbags
all the way up there, or (b) build a com center and then drop a sandbag there. They both block your entrance against people
who throw engineers at you straight away, but the latter gives you the com-center in the same amount of time as just
building all those bags...

Building sandbags takes a nasty amount of time if you really need to make buildings. I've seen maps where theres no way
someone could have built sandbags out there *and* have all those buildings, and now I know how they did it.

Don't be too quick to declare someone a cheater. I have gone to some
amazing lengths to build a sandbag wall out to a patch of tiberium just
so my harvesters would be closer to it. Maybe people will just have to
start leaving a few sandbags as proof of their efforts. Of course,
this is not foolproof but I don't know of any other way, aside from
allowing both sides to scout out the whole map at the start of the
game, that would offer proof of not using this method of cheating

They admitted it when I asked 'em. We laughed. We play the rule that if you find a cheat, you get to use it once,
to see if the others can spot it!

Who cares about cheating. This game is about War. Does no side
ever cheat in War? If you can win a War by cheating, then
cheat. Remeber, they are men and women with families fighting
as NOD or GDI, and they want to get back home alive. Do you
think that they care if you cheat?

Ummm, I hate to point this out, but they aren't real people. They
dont have families, they are little blobs of pixels. And if you need
to cheat to win, then whats the point of playing?

Yes, if you are fighting against them!

Agreed...I like to win by real tactics not flukey game tactics that are
really bugs in the system.
