I've posted 3 new Red Alert multiplayer maps of my own design in
alt.binaries.games. What follows is the text file included in the zip.
Comments and even flames are welcome in the groups or by email.
This zip file contains 3 new multiplayer Red Alert maps. They are:
* Beachhead (3-player version)
* Beachhead (2 or 4-player version)
* Up for Grabs (2 or 4-player version)
The two Beachhead maps are somewhat unique in that the maps
consist of a series of islands which must progressively be landed upon in
order to continue harvesting ore. Remember that MCVs and harvesters
can be put into transports, and that any ore collected while the
"silos needed" warning is outstanding is wasted ore. You're sure to
have some fun air and naval battles on these maps, as well some truly
hair-raising amphibious attacks.
Up for Grabs is especially fun when played as an East-vs-West
4-player game. It's not strictly necessary to land on the central island,
but it's most likely going to be a control point for ore and
forward attack positions.
To use these maps, just unzip the file into your Red Alert directory.
Have fun! Comments can be sent to the author at the email address at
bottom.
