Just finished the last NOD mission in about 1 hr, after taking almost 5 hours on the last GDI mission. Even taking into the account that the GDI mission slowed down when there were too many infantry, this was a serious imbalance in the game. [SPOILERS/ Strategy hints below] In last NOD mission 1. The GDI hard hardly any troops and didn't produce more than a few vehicles which were easily taken out by an obelisk. 2. The first base wasn't prortected by the advanced towers, so a couple of artillery easily destroyed the turrets, and a stealth tank could just waltz in. 3. The infantry didn't come out to attack the artillery while they were blowing up the turrets. 4. The turrets didn't rebuild. 5. The boats don't shoot at infantry, so can be taken out by a few rocket troops. 6. The helicopters aren't protected. 7. The second base (Left hand side) can be easily taken out by landing some rocket troops and engineers at the back. 8. The third base can also be easily taken out by a couple of helicopters round the back, with NO defensive turrets. 9. The troops in the top left hand corner just sit there. All together, this wasn't a well put together scenario. I suspect that whoever did the playtesting on this scenario didn't find the combination above, but the terrain seem to be designed to let you do that so the creator of the terrain must have known about the problem. The last GDI scenario was much more difficult : 1. First base was protected by obelisk, obelisk protected by SAM sites and power stations protected by cliffs. 2. new obelisk and Hand get built mid game in old tiberium field. 3. turrets all over the place made exploration difficualt until I had orcas to kill the turrets. 4. Large number of troops / vehicles attack your base until stopped by sandbagging. Anyone else get the same view ? Admittedly I did the GDI scenarios first, and so the NOD missions seemed easier after that, but it shouldn't have been so much.
