I see that a new graphical map editor is out, although it seems that the current version only allows changing the terrain. I'm curious: how long do the gurus who are hacking C&C think it will take before we can easily create our own fully-working levels (without fiddling with hex, that is)? And one more point. It's interesting that Westwood, unlike Blizzard, didn't jump on the design-your-own-level bandwagon in the wake of Doom's success. I suppose C&C has proven a big enough earner that encouraging homebrewed levels isn't necessary -- to the contrary, it's probably thought of as a threat to future profits. Obviously Westwood deserves to earn all the green they can from this great game and its spin-offs, but you have to wonder if, after they release the forthcoming new levels CD, an editor might follow, too. Why not, after all? We'd all still be interested in the gameplaying advances of C&C's sequels -- still many moons away -- while getting extra life out of the original. Richard
