You write the story at TIGME.COM:

In a galaxy far, far away ... OK, OK! Just kidding! But, still, light years away from a planet called Earth, a lonely, dilapidated mining ship drifts towards a green sphere, which hangs silently in the huge black sea of space. Inside the ship, the man frowns and taps one of the dials. Immediately it springs to life, filling the cockpit with quiet pings. Leaning back in his chair, he takes up a PDA and calls up the information of the planet before him.

"This is it, Cee ... at last it is within my reach! After 23 other mines, this has to be it!" The man clenches his fist on the armrest and pounds it with a dull thud.

"Do you think it is wise to hope so much, Lethan", a mechanical voice replied from somewhere and everywhere.

"What would you know about hope, Cee!" Lethan snarled. "I've been hoping for seventeen years now! Don't tell me not to hope too much - it's all I live on ..." Lethan's voice trailed away as memories of past failures to find the ever illusive element crowds his mind.

"Exactly", the mechanical voice said emotionlessly.
