The 3dfx cards (Orchid Righteous 3D and Diamond Monster 3D) are both add-on cards with a pass-thru connector. This means your 2D card is still used for all non-3D apps. Since you have a Millennium - this is the only route I'd consider. While there are some good 2D/3D combo cards (Rendition chip based) - you'd have to drop your Matrox. For you - that would be a "downgrade." While the PowerVR is also a 3D add-on card, it lacks some key features and have (in the past) plugged their drivers so they would perform better based on executable name. Not a terribly honest way to determine benchmarks. Maybe the PowerVR II, if I decide to overlook their "driver cheating" in the past. >I'm only getting 15 >fps, i thought the millenium was "the best" when I bought it. The Millennium was the best 2D card - and probably still is the best overall 2D card. But it just can't compare with either the Rendition cards or the 3dfx on 3D enhanced software. If you are a serious Descent II player - buy a 3dfx. You won't regret it. Yama
