Thhpptttttt! Do you forget the nasty thing about Javascript where it could be used to secretly inspect the contents of the web surfer's hard drive? Oh yeah! Talk about the kettle calling the pot black! A doc I work with was at a web site recently checking out viruses or something. This page had a button on it that said NOT to click if you had Netscape. Well, he did anyways. It turned out to be a Java applet that started opening multiple Netscape browser windows and continued to do so until his system ran out of memory and CRASHED! I'm sure this could be done to IE also, but it still makes your argument moot. Andrew Ansell <asa...@cam.ac.uk> wrote in article <32E67A...@cam.ac.uk>... : : You forgot to mention the bugs in IE3. Did you know that you can write : an ActiveX script that will cause any computer reading the page to : shutdown? : And then there's the way it forgets to re-post data forms when you press : reload. : Plus I can run identical copies of netscape under Win95 or Linux and : avoid MS products completely, win95 is too unstable. : : Andrew :
