Yeah. Blizzard says it's an "adventure game" along the lines of Diablo I
guess. Just to throw in my 2 cents, Warcraft 2 and Red Alert have
fundamental differences that makes it harder to compare them. War2 has
some more resource management and a very different unit the Peon/Peasant.
Also, it (to me) is more of a war on a smaller scale: individual grunts
matter more than say individual rifleman or granadiers, who are used in
larger packs. Also, the usage of magic in War2 makes individual units more
important, but this is offset by the sheer number of different units
available in RA. The only thing that really bothered me in War2 was the
inability to group units and to only select nine, as mentioned above, and
the ability to only bookmark 3 locations. Hopefully these things will be
improved in Starcraft (which yes did borrow liberally from C&C). The thing
that peeves me about the RA vs WC2 debates is that the people that prefer
one over the other are often so extreme: War2 sucks and RA rules or RA
sucks and War2 rules, and whoever disagrees is a dumb fuckhead. Can't
accept the fact that others prefer other games. Anyway, I'm sure someone
has said the same thing before me in a more eloquent manner, but well, I
haven't.

"You are Zaphod Beeblebrox?"
"Yeah, but don't shout it out or they'll all want one.
"_The_ Zaphod Beeblebrox?"
"No, just _a_ Zaphod Beeblebrox; didn't you hear I come in six packs?"
