FYI the farthest recorded range for a BB (Battleship) round was 27 miles. The 16 inch traveled 27 miles during the Korean conflict, the shot was directed by a 2nd LT calling for artillery support against the Chinese. The only way the round was able to travel that far was because the skipper of the Mighty Mo shifted the ballast to one side and waited for the tide to go out, causing the ship to rest on its keel and roll to one side, thereby elevating the guns even higher. Thought you might like to know. Hunter
