To "NightHawk" The Chronal Vortex is one the side effects of using the Chronosphere. It will search the map for victims, and will not go away until it has damaged (if not destroyed) 5 units or buildings. Sacricifing five rifle infantry is the easiest way to get rid of the Chronal Vortex. You can only see it when it's in visual range of one of your buildings or units. It is also available in multi- player games as a crate content, but it for some reason, isn't used. I could tell you how to use it in MP games if you want. You have to have Rules.ini, though.
