The MIT AI lab got their PDP-6 first. 1964ish? Then they added a KA10 in 1967. The DM group got their PDP-6 in 1969 and added a KA10 the year after. The Mathlab people wanted their own machine, so MIT got a third KA10 in the early 70s. AI and ML got pagers and used the same ITS version. The DM straggled behind without paging for a while. In 1975 the Macsyma people wanted a faster machine, so MIT got a KL10: MC. The DM PDP-6 were never used that much. I don't know when it went away. The AI PDP-6 was disconnected from the PDP-10 in 1978. Around 1983 all three KA10s were struggling and where shut down. Only MC remained for a while. Then the AI lab got a KS10 in 1984. ITS up and running early 85. Three more KS10 appeared: new ML, MX, and MD (the DM was taken by a VAX). MX was pressed into service as the new mail server, and traded name with MC. MX, now the KL10, went to Sweden in 1988. I don't know about DM and ML, but ML and AI kept running until 1990.
