At one time there was the Addressograph company. I thought their specialty was making the machines that imprinted charge plates and imprinted them. I don't know what their "multilith" low-cost printing system. Could it have been spirit duplicating? I doubt it was "offset". But it appears they made other stuff, too. https://books.google.com/books?id=10QEAAAAMBAJ&lpg=PA133&dq=life%20hand%20operated&pg=PA133#v=onepage&q&f=false https://books.google.com/books?id=oT8EAAAAMBAJ&lpg=PA61&dq=life%20addressograph&pg=PA61#v=onepage&q&f=false

I doubt it was "offset". Probably it was the mimeograph - wax stencils with the wax upon cloth through which ink could pass where the wax was removed. However, I know some mimeograph companies also made offset lithography equipment as well, at, of course, higher prices. John Savard

I doubt it was "offset". It was indeed a cheap form of lithography (i.e. "offset") sold as a duplicator. I'm sure it cost a lot more than a spirit duplicator or mimeo, it's a lot bigger and more complex a machine.
