Well, I've heard enough about punch cards, IBM 704s, and flaming on computer crime for a while :-) A few years ago, Unitech (a UNIX systems administration tool company in Reston VA) put out a couple of posters about UNIX. They were given out (free) at USENIX/Uniforum conferences for a while. The question is: what do all the things in the posters mean? I've figured a bunch out, but there are some I don't understand. From the poster titled "UNIX Views": UNIX wizard shells, corn cobs => Korn shell book of spells => spell black cat => cat sheep at a trough => troff four mice => m4 (?) keys => ? fisherman pulling a net => networking water => streams castle => Murray Hill flying devils => daemons lumberman => cut trees => ? buildings => ? mountains => ? graveyard containing tp, roff, Version 6 => obvious mailbox => mail Any corrections or alternate interpretations would be greatly appreciated, as would a similar list for the other poster! Incidentally, Unitech was acquired by Systems Center in the past month or two. --Jeremy -- Jeremy Epstein TRW Systems Division 703-876-8776 jje%v...@uunet.uu.net
