To Guy Leech: The person you should contact is Tony Sale, currently at the Science Museum, London. In the 1940s, while still a schoolboy, he learnt about the Williams tube, and (unsuccessfully) tried to make one. He has now made a modern working replica of the Williams tube, and is preparing a paper on it. (At the Science Museum he is charge of efforts to get a number of old computers operational again.)
