The repeated postings all seem to be coming from one site, "ixos."
Until it gets solved, putting
/Sender: news@ixos.UUCP/h:j
in one's global Kill file works wonders.

I thought our feed was broken and repeating articles too. Apparently something must have gone wrong at a major feed site and it is piping down old stuff at us..... Nope, we are getting the postings here also. I have posted a query about these dup postings in alt.sex, and it seems like several sites in the East Coast are getting dup postings. Another virus? Hmmmmm...I wonder... -=-=- Ack!

Seems that trouble is brewing all over the net with duplicate postings appearing. There's been alot of talk about it in other newsgroups.

I received the following note from Eric Clarke, who asked me to repost it. Here it is: -- I am unable to post to this group. I have been gritting my teeth about the various wrong answers that have been posted. I sent this info to the original poster and ask him to repost it. He has not, so, maybe you will. This information comes from my latest ANIXTER catalog's glossary. It seems to be about as reliable as I can find. ANIXTER sells virtually anything you might want in the way of cable or cable part. Here is what they have to say: _BNC_ A bayonet-locking connector for minature coax; BNC is said to be short for bayonet-Neill-Concelman (see N CONNECTOR and C CONNECTOR). Contrast with TNC. _C CONNECTOR_ A bayonet-locking connector for coax; C is named after Carl Concelman. See also BNC and TNC. _N CONNECTOR_ A threaded connector for coax; N is named after Paul Neill. See also BNC and TNC. _TNC CONNECTOR_ A threaded connector for minature coax; TNC is said to be short for threaded-Neill_Concelman (see N CONNECTOR and C CONNECTOR). Contrast with BNC. These four definitions in a circular way cover most of the questions that I have seen people post on this subject in the last week. By the way I don't have any connecton with ANIXTER. They just happened to give me one of their catalogs at the Uniform show in DC last January. Eric S. Where are (were?) Carl Concelman and Paul Neill and why do they have connectors named after them? Why is it called a bayonet when it doesn't look anything like a knife??? (Actually, I conjecture that it is the locking mechanism that is similar although I, fortunately, have never seen a bayonet at close hand in my entire life, nor do I particularly wish to :-) ) spl (the p stands for pondering who is the DB-25 named after) -- Steve Lamont, sciViGuy (919) 248-1120 EMail: s...@ncsc.org NCSC (The other one), Box 12732, Research Triangle Park, NC 27709 Don't send in no bums. I learned that BNC may stand for Baby-Neil connector. Evidently, the Neil type connector was one big connector. Harris Broadcast employee rambling on his own. Read and Discard.
