We just got a SparcStation-1 and sure enough, many "Read This First" documents.
I guess that what they mean is "Read this before you need this info". 8-)

My favorite document of this type was one I got a few years ago (I don`t
remember the vendor) that had a little pamphlet sealed next to the computer
which was inside plastic wrap mounted on polystyrene corners inside a big
box; the pamphlet was marked "Read this before unpacking"

On a similar note, we recently received a Cayman GatorBox. In addition to the
manual there was a little pamphlet called the "QuickStart Guide" for users
"familiar with Appletalk and TCP/IP conventions and who want to operate the
GatorBox immediately in a basic configuration." In step three ("Connect
the cables") there are several steps like "Connect the power cord"..."Connect
your GatorBox to your AppleTalk network"... etc.

Well I did these things and it didn't work, so I said "I guess I better try
the detailed instructions". So I follow the detailed instructions and lo and
behold on page 2-4 in a box with bold letters marked "Important" it says you
must plug the transformer into the GatorBox before pluging it into the AC
outlet or you may damage the GatorBox. Great. That wasn't the problem, thank
Murphy, but some notice in the QuickStart Guide would have been nice.
To be fair, this was the order in the QS Guide, but without any notice who
would read past the header that says your are connecting the power cord?
