Ever notice how many universities took advantage of Apple's educational
discounts to get labs with II+'s and IIe's? And the things that they devised
to utilize these computers in labs? My undergraduate university was no
different. Some of the labs I had toward my physics degree utilized the data
acquistion devices that could be hooked to an Apple. As part of the
departmental propaganda was a picture of a student and a professor looking at
some data graphed on the screen. It turns out that the data was produced from
a written program and not from the device; it was the only way to get such a
nice picture.

Along the thread of dictatorial system administrators, some of them tend to
have weird alert systems. I had a .plan file that stated that I would like to
get a CS degree without getting the CS people upset at me; when a hacker broke
into our system, guess who was accused of attempted break-ins?

An ad for Sears a while ago listed a quarts television. Do you think with this
metric craze that we might get liters television?
