Could whoever posted the story about Mel and the Drum Memory repost
it or send me a copy? I've lost mine... Thanks.

  (I can't believe I'm doing this, since there've been over 150 ftp
connections to my workstation in the week since I said I had Alice's
PDP-10 on it. What the hell, my workstation likes the attention :-)

It's available for anonymous ftp from pit-manager.mit.edu (18.72.1.58,
for the nameserver-impaired) in the file ~ftp/pub/humor/Mel (compressed
in Mel.Z).

If you don't have ftp access, send me mail and I'll send it to you.

Alas, I don't know who wrote it, and the copy of it I have doesn't
seem to have any attribution.

It was written long ago by Ed Nather, who was nat...@astro.as.utexas.edu
a couple years ago when I happened on the tale.
