My sister-in-law works at Chevron in the bay area. She tells me that they have a special dismissal policy for the computer programmers in the company. After you have been informed of your dismissal, a security officer escorts you to your office, watches you clean it out, escorts you to the exit and informs you that you should not bother coming to work for your last two weeks. It seems they take the possibility of revenge very seriously.
