I heard something like this, although it is probably an Urban Legend(tm).
Anyhow, here goes:
A student majoring in Art was filling out a computerized advance
registration form here at the local university. The registration
form was the kind that requires you to make all your numbers "just
so" so that the numbers might be read by an optical scanner. The
student, being artistically inclined, was incapable of making his
numbers the way he was suppose to; the end result was that instead
of the art class he wanted, he ended up registered for a graduate
level Electrical Engineering course. All quarter long this
student kept meaning to go to the Registrar's Office and drop the
course, but he neglected to do so. When he finally received his
report card, he was astonished to see that the professor had given
him an "A".
The Moral: Graduate school can't really be all that tough, can it?
