Ipecac being a natural laxative. Not quite. The word you are looking for is "emetic". It causes forceful voiding of the digestive tract, but from the upper, not the lower orifice. If someone has some substance in their stomach that it is important not be in their stomach and a stomach pump is not readily available, ipecac is the goto option. However one must be careful with it--there are substances that do more damage on the way up than they would if left in place for a while.
