When I worked in an electronics lab of the CEGB 44 years ago, the only
dangerous voltage with which I could come into contact was the 240V from
the mains sockets in the lab, but nevertheless I had to have a copy of
the power line safety manual.

Interesting procedure, for if any one was to work on a line, the line
would be isolated, and the control switches removed from the panel and
put into a safe with multiple locks, then everyone in the chain of
command, including the intended worker would take one of the keys
with them.

There was still a fatality, for a worker on the pylon went for lunch,
and on return climbed up the wrong side where the other 3-phase line was
still in use.
