Given that Trump wishes to Make America Great Again, and Putin invaded Georgia 
because it claimed that ethnic Russians were being persecuted in part of that 
country...

I remember the relationship between a leader who invaded Czechoslovakia because he claimed that ethinc Germans were being persecuted in part of that country...

and an Italian leader who sought to restore to Italy the glory of ancient Rome.

Thus, I see Trump as the junior partner in a Putin-Trump partnership.
