The arrest referred to above, from which there was no outcome apart from a plod being prosecuted for assault by the CPS, was one instigated by Brian Reay who had a number of people arrested for harassment that year merely for not only disagreeing with him on Usenet but maintaining that disagreement. Reay had posted that my wife was a sheep in the bed next to me and I was pressing him for an apology and retraction, (my solicitor recommended a llibel action against reay). Any reasonable grownup would not hesitate to apologise whan made aware of such great offence, but reay's response was to have me arrested.
