My boss got shafted out of being a VP--she got promoted to a position that is usually "VP" but for a few months the company decided to do away with titles and she got promoted during those few months. Her boss is a VP. Several other managers in our area are VPs. Ordinarily there are a couple of more levels of VP up the chain but our uberVP works directly for the CFO.
