When my subscription lapsed they called to try to get me to resubscribe and I told them something like "the magazine has gone off in a direction I'm not interested in." What I enjoyed (as well as Circuit Cellar, of course) were the programming articles. I could often pick up a technique I wasn't familiar with, or a novel concept. I can't believe many of the original subscribers were interested in an yet another article comparing office suites, or touting some new feature of windows. Certainly there were lots of people who were interested, and many of us were now using PCs and windoze, at least at work, but that kind of stuff just wasn't what we read Byte for. -- Pete
