The current state of the international financial world is an
interesting experiment but no-one sane should participate there other
than with funds they are prepared to lose in their entirety.
The financial system moves trillions of notional dollars around every
day. There is, within that system, no credible connection with what
T.C. Mits [1] would call "money". That system has become decoupled from
basic concepts of money as a store of (anything that might be to you)
value or a medium facilitating commerce or exchange between people.
But that financial tail wags the dog of public and general interest.
YADATROT: This couldn't be happening globally without computers.
[1] The Celebrated Man in the Street. Yeah, yeah, you can have
T.C. Mwoogits [2] if you insist but the late author from whom
"T.C. Mits" was cavalierly appropriated wouldn't approve.
